Community Meeting | Planning Changes for Tāmaki Electorate

Medium Density Residential Standards, supported by both major parties, are now gone. However, we face a new and related challenge.

Government policy is now for Council to zone new dwellings like what the MDRS would have provided (this was the compromise for removing MDRS).

Instead of spreading intensification across the entire city, the Council has produced a draft plan that concentrates development in central Auckland.

Given the recent experiences with flood damage and sewerage leaking on the shoreline, our infrastructure is plainly not up to such intensification.

The Council will choose which plan they consult on by October 10. I need your support in pressuring Council to amend its plan. This is urgent.
